Srinagar, May 24 (KNO) : Paying tributes to a renowned commander Zakir Moosa, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Friday said that whosoever strives for implementation of divine law in His land, with his conviction and dedication are the real heroes of the movement and nation is indebted to hail their precious sacrifices. “The best and only way to pay homage to our martyrs is to support the freedom struggle in whatever possible way, to get rid of forced occupation,” Geelani said as per a statement issued to KNO. Condemning the incident of killing of Zahoor Ahmad of Tahab Pulwama by forces, Geelani expressed his deep concern on the unabated killings spree in Jammu and Kashmir. “It is a sheer political vengeance to kill the innocent relatives of the militants,” he said, saying Zahoor is the brother of Irfan Ahmad, engaged in an armed struggle. He termed it as “a gross violation of human rights’ to punish Paul for the crime committed by Peter or the vice versa.” While pressing for an early resolution of Kashmir issue, Geelani said that “the life of the people of Kashmir has become hell because of the disputed nature.” Meanwhile, on the directions of Geelani, a high level delegation comprising Molvi Bashir Irfani, Bilal Sidiqui and Yasmeen Raja visited Kulgam and Shopian to express deep condolences and solidarity with the grief stricken families of Irfan Ahmad Bhat and Yawar Ahmad Dar what got killed in a military action. The leaders paid tributes to the slain and pledged to carry the sacred mission of freedom movement.(KNO)
